Northeast Power Systems, Inc. (NEPSI) recently hired Rodrigo Dünner as Director of International Business Development and Sales, as announced by Paul Steciuk, president of NEPSI. “This is a very important and very exciting addition for NEPSI. Rodrigo is a key person not only in Latin America but also worldwide.” Dünner, based in Santiago, Chile, began working with NEPSI in December 2017.

My main responsibility will be to pursue and support opportunities in NEPSI’s current business segments including OEM, mining, renewable energy, oil and gas, and industrial applications, and to continue growing the Latin-American market beyond Chile and Peru and expanding sales on other continents.

- Rodrigo Dünner

NEPSI is the leading supplier of fully integrated metal-enclosed harmonic filter systems and provides these systems to major power generation companies and consumers of electric power including the largest copper concentrate and electrowinning plants in North, Central, and South America. Dünner has set up shop in the copper capital of the world but views his new assignment from a global perspective. He intends to leverage NEPSI’s vast number of existing customers, large installed base, technical know-how and years of experience to make new contacts and further broaden NEPSI’s mark on the world stage.

Steciuk says, “It’s important to have local Spanish speaking professionals that understand the culture and can liaison with new and existing customers. Beyond the Americas, NEPSI has sights set on Africa, Russia, and Australia. We have big plans for the future.”

Dünner graduated from the University of Chile in 1997 with a degree in Civil Industrial Engineering, and also holds degrees in Mathematics and Physics. He got his start working for IDT, a prior business partner of NEPSI and a Chilean based company that was acquired by General Electric in 2013. His connection with NEPSI extends back to 2007. Steciuk says, “We have always had a good working relationship with Rodrigo so even though this is a new position, working closely with him is not new for us.”

Dünner recognizes that selling medium voltage, metal-enclosed harmonic filters, capacitor banks and other key pieces of equipment to EPCs and EPCMs is more marathon than sprint and knows that success comes through patience, expertise, and perseverance. “The project may take years to develop so it’s important to have early involvement. It usually starts with a feasibility study and it’s a long way from there to getting a PO, so you have to start very early.”

NEPSI is the leading global provider of medium-voltage metal-enclosed power capacitor banks and harmonic filter banks for use on electric power systems. Founded in 1995, the New York based company has grown to be the world's market leader and most trusted name for the supply of medium-voltage metal-enclosed power factor correction and harmonic filter systems.
