On-Site Measurements

NEPSI's field service engineering staff can perform power system measurements at the low, medium, and high voltage levels. These measurements provide useful data for trouble shooting power quality problems relating to switching transients, harmonics, voltage regulation, and poor power factor.

Our field service engineers collect the necessary data required by sophisticated harmonic analysis, transient analysis, load flow analysis, and short circuit analysis software packages. Unlike many other manufacturers and engineering firms who only report the collected data, NEPSI utilizes the collected data for engineering purposes. Without the proper background in power system analysis, proper measurement techniques may not be employed, yielding results that are meaningless, and worse yet, wrong. NEPSI always sends qualified power system engineers to perform on-site measurements.  That ensures you will get the results you want!

While taking on-site measurements, our field service engineers meet with your staff to discuss and or collect one or more of the following:

  • The present situation.

  • Future expansion plans.

  • Typical operating practices under normal and abnormal conditions.

  • System impedance data
  • System one lines

  • Study expectations

NEPSI utilizes the above data to perform system studies.  All collected data and analysis results are bound in a binder for future reference.
