Enclosure Base and component supports are formed from structual steel. This base allows for units to be shipped completely assembled and ready for interconnection. Lifting plates can be removed after rigging.

Features

NEPSI's Metal-Enclosed Capacitor Bank and Harmonic Filter Bank enclosures are designed, fabricated, and coated at our plant located in Queensbury, NY. This webpage provides information on our standard enclosure design as well as various options that can be provided to meet your specific requirements.


Standard Enclosure
Specification

Sheet Metal - 11 Guage Cold Rolled Galvanneal Steel. For highly corrosive environments, stainless steel can be provided on request.

Enclosure Base &
Component Supports - The entire assembly (including component supports) are constructed on a C4-5.4 structual steel base such that the complete assembly can be lifted, skidded, slid, or rolled into place on a pad without damage to any portion of the enclosure or its contents. For highly corrosive environments, the structural steel can be hot-dipped galvanized.

Hinges - Enclosure doors are of a flush design with hinges that are welded to the door and to the enclosure in a configuration to allow removal of the doors in the open position. Hinge body and pin are stainless steel and have a 1200 pound combined rating.

Paint - Enclosures are painted with a high-solid epoxy coating that has a 5500 hour salt spray rating. The paint color can be chosen by the customer or can be one of NEPSI's standard colors. Standard colors include ANSI gray 61 - Munsell No. 8.3G 6.10/0.54, ANSI Gray 70 - Munsell No. 5BG 7.0/0.4, or Green - Munsell No. 7Gy 3.29/1.5. In addition, the inside may be painted white for high visibility during maintenance.

Options

Pentahead Bolts - Pentahead Bolts and other requirements listed ANSI C57.12.28-1988 - Pad Mounted Equipment Enclosure Integrity can be provide in publically accessible areas.

Segmented Enclosures - As standard, NEPSI's enclosures are of a single piece design. As an option, NEPSI can provide enclosures that can be split to assist in rigging and installation.

As Standard, NEPSI's Capacitor Banks and Harmonic Filter Banks are of an all-welded construction. Bolted-panel construction can be provided on request.

All seams are welded and ground smooth to present an attractive appearance.

Doors - Enclosure doors are of a flush design. Automatic sliding stainless steel doors stays are provided to hold the doors in the open position. Doors are equipped with three point stainless steel latching handles that can be pad-locked.

Windows - Fully gasketed windows are provided to view internal components (i.e. fuses) of the bank.

Enclosure Labling -Enclosures are marked and labled in accordance with IEEE/NEMA standards. Labels identifying component compartments are affixed to the exterior of the enclosure.

Ventilation System - Permently embossed louvers with baffling screens welded to the enclosure interior are provided to prevent insects or protrusions into the enclosure while increasing air flow.
