NEPSI's Metal-Enclosed Capacitor Banks and Harmonic Filter Banks come equipped with an automatic control system that switches each capacitor stage based upon one or more of the following parameters.

Typically, NEPSI's banks are equipped with a power factor controller unless a different controller is specifically requested. The table below provides cut sheets from many different key suppliers of capacitor controllers. Controllers not listed, can also be installed when requested.

Notes:

1. Typically NEPSI utilizes the Nokian, Boddingtons, or GEC Alstom Power Factor Controller. These controllers are best suited for multistage capacitor banks. The Fisher Pierce and Energyline controller are best suited for single stage banks. Please notify NEPSI if a specific controller is desired.
2. Controllers that switch based upon power factor or vars will require an upstream current signal.
3. Controllers that switch based upon current will require a current signal from a current transformer that is placed between the capacitor bank and the load.
4. SCADA controls are provided when requested.
5. Controller and control system are housed in a segregated compartment that form an integral part of the capacitor bank enclosure. Remote controls are available when requested.
6. All control systems allow for capacitor bank discharge time requirements. Stage indicators and on/off/auto controls are provided for each stage.
7. Controls are UL 508 Listed when requested.
